International Exchanges and Cooperations

　　Guilin Medical University has developed extensive international cooperation and exchanges by making use of the university privileges and the regional privilege as a well-known tourist city. It is one of the earlier few higher educational institutions authorized by the Ministry of Education of China and the State Management Bureau of Chinese Traditional Medicine to offer training courses to international students both in medicine and traditional Chinese medicine. For years, the university has cultivated many senior medical talents from the United States, Japan, Germany, etc., and from the regions of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Especially in the recent years, tens of teachers have been sent to the foreign countries, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan for academic exchanges and further studies. Meanwhile, about 30 prestigious professors, members of the Chinese Academy of Science and the Chinese Academy of Engineering including Prof.Zeng yi, Liu Gengtao, Jin Guozhang, Cheng Shujun, Fan Daiming and the Nobel Prize winner in medicine, D. Carleton Gajdusek and Dr. Kenneth Olden, have been to the campus to give lectures, to offer guidance and suggestions on teaching and research. Through the exchanges and cooperation, the popularity and influence of the university has been greatly enhanced as a result.
